September Book Review:

Moms: As Elite as the CIA…Well Almost
by Andrea Keeney

Moms As Elite as the CIA, Well AlmostThis entertaining story, the first in a series, is about a special breed of elite mothers that I can only hope I will belong to one day. Keeney tells the story of one of these extraordinary mothers as she tackles the seemingly commonplace task of going to the grocery store. As I read, I found myself nodding my head in understanding and agreement as well as laughing at the honest but funny aspects of motherhood. Keeney captures the entire experience with the uncanny accuracy that only another mom can deliver.

Small children with only a couple years experience have the unnerving ability to know just which buttons to push and how to get away with more than many moms would like. This leads to mothers developing cat-like reflexes and the proverbial eyes in the back of their heads. Upon mastering the art of reading your childrens’ minds and super-sonic hearing, you may be close to becoming an elite mom. With the physical, emotional, and psychological demands of motherhood, and the unbelievable energy of a three-year-old, it is no wonder these moms have evolved into multi-tasking paladins.

This is a short read, perfect for those moments you need a few minutes to yourself (maybe in the bathroom?). I read it in one sitting. In fact my only complaint is that it was so short, I wanted more! I am looking forward to the next installment.
