There is No Magic Pill

no magic pillI was sitting there scanning through blogs and articles when I came across this article by a phenomenal woman who in my opinion has her “stuff” together. She was trying to find her inner power and discovered you can’t find that on Google.

That’s when it hit me. That is exactly what I’ve been doing!

Okay, I haven’t been looking for my inner power. I’m not even sure I know what that means. But I was looking for some secret magic pill none the less. Only I didn’t realize it.

I “relaunched” my blog several months ago with all these great intentions. And then life happened. Work got busy, then the holidays were hectic, and soon my blog became a ghost town. But through all that time I still managed to read blog posts about marketing, click on articles on Facebook about motherhood, and do searches for random things.

What I was looking for can’t be found on Google. There is no magic pill.

It also can’t be found in a blog post or some other article. I don’t need Google to tell me how to be a good mom. I don’t need emails to tell how to write my story on this blog. I just have to get out of my own way and do it!

I didn’t realize that I was searching for something until I read that article. So now I’m back to blogging. I’m committing to doing less research and more action. I’m going to parent my kids the way my intuition tells me, not some website. I’m going to be me.

What about you? Do you find yourself looking for something, anything, to tell you that you’re doing a good job? I think I have spent more hours on Pinterest looking for interesting projects than actually doing a project. Are you spending your time searching instead of just being or doing?

  1. So true! We are sometimes our own worst enemy, aren’t we? I know I try to find value or validation for the things I do online, OR even try to make sure I’m not the only one that feels a certain way! But really, who cares??

I agree Jennifer! Sometimes we are too deep in the blogosphere and there’s no way out, we can’t even see ourselves in there. It can be a black hole. It can be very helpful as long as we know how to find our way back home. I’m glad you’ve found your inner power 🙂

This hit home. It is so easy to just waste away looking for something to do…I always complain about not having enough to do. But instead, I should be actually moving and getting things done!

Yes! I believe this is so important. Follow your mommy gut and follow your child’s needs. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

Very true, sometimes there is more research than actually “doing”. Providing engaging, entertaining and helpful content should be our priorities as bloggers. Well, sometimes we just have to vent too… 🙂

Research is very important it’s true, as long as we do get back to providing that content as you mentioned and don’t get sidetracked down a rabbit hole!
